 1. HOTELL "ELISABETHPARK"
In 1218 a house called „Wildbachhäusl“ was located at the spot where Hotel Elisabethpark is today. Later it had been known as „Prälatur“ because a Prälat (senior chaplain) visited this house regularly to benefit from the healing powers of the water in Gastein.Afterwards an Italian Earl bought the building and reconstructed it in a grandious summer residence. Ownership passed to another aristocratic family until finally Aloys Windischbauer bought the residence. In 1882 he built the bath- and SPA hotel Elisabethpark, the major house. His granddaughter married the master-builder Franzmaier, whose artistry helped to made hotel Elisabethpark of present-day into one of the most luxurious tourist establishments in Bad Gastein.
The private park behind the building gave the hotel the name „Elisabethpark“.
In those days only fango packs and thermal water tubs were offered, around 100 to 130 thermal tubs per day.
In the years 1965 - 1967 a thermal swimming pool was built. The building phase lasted 2 years because of the concerts in Merangarden. This swimming pool was the first throughout Bad Gastein. The Felsentherme had been constructed in 1968 and thereafter many other hotels began to put up their own thermal swimming pools.
The radon bath is only possible with a doctor`s prescription, which is why all swimming pools are without radon. We recommend a bathing time of ca 20 minutes due to the mineral content of the thermal water.After the swimming pool was built, saunas and inhalation premises were added. Sauna runs were only available for particular persons and had to be appointed previously.
Hotel Elisabethpark was once one of the 50 “Leading Hotels of the World”.
To claim this standard and to meet the requirements of our international clients the hotel was completely renovated during 2 months closing time in the spring of 2008.

We have 119 comfortable guest rooms, divided between 2 connected buildings.
We offer different room categories: single-, double- & double "deluxe" rooms. More spacious rooms would be our Junior Suites and Panorama Suites.
In all rooms there are well equipped bathrooms, mini bar, SAT - TV, telephone and hairdryers.
Park facing rooms have a balcony whilst the rooms facing the valley have a panoramic window.
For families we offer generously proportioned rooms with a pull out couch or inter connecting rooms.
Please regard with favour that most of our rooms are non smoking. Smoking rooms can be reserved on request.
Various luxury suites are also available for those guests who enjoy a little more space.

 Our Thermal Swimming Pool:
The thermal water swimming pool has a temperature of 30° C, and its beneficial effects are briefly described below:
The Gastein thermal water is lightly mineralised and contains natural inert radon gas. The radon is inhaled or absorbed through the skin, then deploys it beneficial effects before being completely exhausted and expelled within a few hours.
Radon regenerates the function of damaged cells in a natural way, it mobilises the body`s own resistances and let the organism recover. Additionally the warmth of the thermal water has a positive and stimulating effect.
The radon insertion results from the supply of cold air.As the hot water comes from the spring at temperatures over 40°C, it is air cooled to 32°C and the inert radon gas is released.
Our Saunas: Danarium
This organic sauna is a variation that is kind to the body`s circulation system, with a humidity of around 50% and maximum temperature of 50°. The organic sauna has an integrated light therapy which is proven to have a positive influence on the organism and helps aids relaxation.
Brine steam bath
Fine particles of sea salt brine are released into the steam at regular intervals.
The combination of brine and steam with the radiating warmth of the room creates a climate comparable to the southern ocean regions. The temperature hovers at around 45 degrees and soothes the body`s airways, lungs and bronchial passages.
Finnish Sauna
In the Finnish sauna there is the temperature of between 85 and 90 degrees and humidity levels of 10 to 30%. As these conditions lead to high moisture loss, the body purifies and detoxifies, the circulation system is stimulated and blood flow increases. Sauna visits should only last for around 15 minutes each period, afterwards allow the body cool down and relax quietly.
Tepidarium
The Tepidarium is a body temperature Sauna, with temperature level of 30 to 50 degrees - gene rating and so called “healthy fever” (39 degrees). This “healthy fever” strengthens the immune system, relaxes muscles and helps to ease limb and joint pain.
